Skills guide

Deepworld has eleven skills. You spend skill points, earned from XP, to raise them, and each one changes how you play.

Each skill levels up to 10 using skill points earned as you gain XP. Accessories and exoskeletons can boost your effective level beyond that.

SkillWhat it does
AgilityMove better and faster; reduces physical damage.
AutomataCraft turrets and craft and use butler bots.
BuildingCraft better items and place blocks from farther away.
CombatImproves gun efficiency; raises critical hit rate and bomb damage.
EngineeringCraft and use better items; makes your Steampack more efficient.
HorticultureLets you plant advanced bulbs for better flowers and improves your chances when harvesting.
LuckUnlocks better loot and lets you loot higher quantities.
MiningMine faster and deeper; increases mining bonuses.
PerceptionUnlocks additional map abilities and increases zoom.
Stamina and SurvivalThe two durability skills, which help you last longer in a dangerous world.

Which skills to level first

  1. Mining so you can dig deeper and find better materials.
  2. Engineering for stronger crafted gear and a better Steampack.
  3. Perception to see more of the map.
  4. Then Combat and Agility before you take on dungeons, and Luck once you are looting a lot.

Accessories

Accessories such as mining gloves and combat scopes boost specific skills. Skill bonuses from accessories do not stack: only the highest-tier one applies at a time.
